Privacy Policy
LearnMore. One is a Chrome extension developed by LearnMore.One.
We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect,
how we use it, and what choices you have.
1. What We Collect
LearnMore collects the minimum data necessary to provide its service:
- Anonymous user ID — a randomly generated UUID stored locally in your browser. It is used solely to track your usage quota (free vs. paid). It is never linked to your identity.
- Video transcript text — fetched directly from YouTube's public API for the video you are currently watching. This text is sent to our server for AI processing and is not stored permanently.
- Usage count — the number of videos you have analyzed in the current month, stored in our database linked to your anonymous user ID only.
- Anonymous usage events — product interaction events (e.g. "analysis started", "summary opened", "panel resized") linked only to your anonymous user ID. These are used solely to improve the product and contain no personal information.
- Local preferences — your UI preferences (panel width, preferred summary type, auto-analyze setting) stored only on your device in Chrome's extension storage. Never sent to our servers.
2. What We Do NOT Collect
- Your name, email address, or any personal identifiers
- Your Google or YouTube account information
- Your browsing history or YouTube watch history
- Your OpenAI API key (if you previously used an older version — keys were only ever stored locally in your browser and never transmitted)
- Any data from YouTube pages you visit without opening LearnMore
3. How We Use Your Data
- AI Analysis — Video transcript text is sent to our backend server, which forwards it to OpenAI's API to generate concept cards and study briefs. Transcripts are processed in real time and not stored.
- Usage Tracking — Your anonymous user ID and monthly analysis count are stored in our database to enforce free tier limits and manage paid subscriptions.
- Payments — If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed by Stripe. We receive a customer reference ID from Stripe but never your full payment card details.
4. Third-Party Services
LearnMore uses the following third-party services:
5. Data Storage & Security
- Your anonymous user ID is stored locally in Chrome's extension storage on your device.
- Usage data is stored in a secured database (Supabase) hosted in the EU (West Europe).
- All communication between the extension and our servers uses HTTPS encryption.
- Transcript text is never stored — it is processed and discarded immediately.
6. Data Retention
Usage data (anonymous ID + analysis count) is retained for as long as your account is active.
If you uninstall LearnMore, your local data is deleted automatically by the browser.
You may request deletion of your server-side data at any time by contacting us.
7. Children's Privacy
LearnMore is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect
any personal information from children.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant
changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of LearnMore after
changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
9. Fair Use
The Power plan provides unlimited AI video analyses for personal and professional learning.
This is subject to fair use. Accounts with usage patterns inconsistent with individual learning
— such as automated or bulk processing — may be reviewed and contacted.
We reserve the right to suspend access in cases of abuse.
10. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Request access to or deletion of your data
- Opt out of analytics at any time by uninstalling the extension
- Contact us with any privacy-related questions or concerns
